The Pastoral Leadership Major will give you the tools you need to be an effective Christian leader. The skills you need to influence the world for Christ are the same whether you'll be a CEO, teacher, or pastor! You’ll learn these versatile skills in the first year of the program. If you decide to go into vocational ministry, your second year will teach you the specific skills you need to be an effective Church leader.
Leadership at its core is a decision to reject current reality and fight for change. Pastoral Leadership is learning to bring about that change by caring for people in the way Jesus modeled for us.
Thrive School's Pastoral Leadership Major is designed to do one thing: make you a better leader. You'll learn how to lead yourself, lead others, and create systems to support change.
In your first year, your classes cover the skills that are applicable inside and outside the Church. Your second year classes are focused on the essential areas of competency for church leaders. This is what you need to know lead effectively, in any context.
You're going to love Thrive School's home base. Bayside doesn't hold to a lot of traditions, on purpose. They can so easily get in the way of the church's mission: to Reach Wide, Teach Deep, and Unleash Compassion.
Developing your skills for a life of ministry is vital - but your personal growth is what keeps our team up at night. We’re fanatically committed to seeing you develop as a Christ-follower, as an individual, as a friend, and as a leader.
HOW IT ALL WORKS
This is a good way to sum up the Two-Year Certificate experience: People don't become great by taking it easy. That's why you'll be challenged, and given responsibility. For a lot of students, it's refreshing to have a lot expected of them. To be shown the next level, and expected to rise to the occasion. Our team, and the peers around you, support you every step of the way.
THE BIG QUESTIONS
Most students join Thrive School intending on completing a Two-Year Certificate in their chosen Major, and that's how we've designed the program to be most effective. If you're asking yourself... How are the years different? Can I just attend for one? What happens afterward?
